ENARADA, Bangalore, August 6, 2013:

Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam announced a series of unique initiatives for the convenience of the devotees from Karnataka for the auspicious month of ‘”Shravana” of the hindu calendar.

A meeting was held for introducing sevas of the Lord at Bangalore temple premises, which were previously carried out only at Tirumala- like the Wednesday Astothara Shatha Kalasabhisekha, the Friday Abhishekha, the Saturday Oonjal Seve and the Sunday Kalyanotsava.

The meeting was presided over by Mr P Shyama Raju, President of Local Advisory Committee (LAC) TTD, Mrs. Vasantha Kumari Dy. Executive officer TTD, Mr. Venkateshwara Rao, Secretary LAC, TTD and senior members of the LAC, and it was unanimously agreed to bring seva archaks from Tirumala to perform the auspicious pujas in Bangalore.

The committee also announced a series of educative programmes such as Bhavadgeetha, Vishnu Sahasranamma, Lalitha Sahasranama and Suprabhatha classes to be conducted especially for school children. “It is very important that children get to learn about our rich cultural heritage and the key elements of Hinduism at an impressionable age,” remarked Mr P Shyama Raju, President of Advisory Committee,TTD on the occasion.

The same event also saw the inauguration of the 800-seat air-conditioned Kalyanamantapa and auditorium at the venue- “Golden Jubilee Bhavan” The auditorium is open to public and is to host music concerts, cultural dance festivals and Harikatha sessions in the city.

17th Aug, 10.30am-Satyanarayana Vratham

21st Aug-Concluding verse of Managudi program. Venkateswara Swamy Abhishekham in the morning, Archana, Samoohika Parayana and Prasadam distribution. Cultural programmes in the evening.

The information centre in Bangalore distributes the world-renowned Tirupati ladoos every Saturday and plans to initiate a Veda Patashala and daily Annandana & Kalyanotsava at the Bangalore centre very shortly.

Special programmes such as Navratri Bhramotsava, Vaikunta Ekadashi, New Year’s Day and Ugadi will be arranged for devotees as well. Apart from this, Seva tickets for devotees travelling to Tirupati are issued at the Bangalore office.

TTD Information Centre was founded in Bangalore under the able guidance of the late Sri V.R. Naidu (President) and late Sri. C Chandrasekar (Secretary) in the heart of Bangalore City Market. The body has been operational since the past 58 years, and known to organise several religious and cultural activities. The temple houses statues of Padmavati ammanavaru, Bhoodevi, Garuda, Sri Rama, Sita, Laxmana, Anjaneya and Radha Krishna along with Lord Venkateswara Swamy.
