However, very few know that Rath Yatras are religiously followed at many more places like Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) campus, Bhubaneswar. KISS campus has a unique place in this country as this is the only campus in the entire world to house 25,000 tribals including 11,000 girls (most of them being first timers to have stepped out of their hamlets).
The KISS Jagannath Yatra has its own flavour. It has been designed and conceptualised by the tribal kids. Under the guidance of KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta, the Rath Yatra draws tribals from forests who add colour to the festival.
There is so much sanctity in the festival that even atheists turn followers of Lord Jagannath. As many people don’t have the opportunity to be part of the KISS Rath Yatra, the KIIT and KISS group has decided to bring the Rath Yatra to your door step. The KISS Rath Yatra will soon be making it’s visit to the city in the form of a unique photo exhibition.
