ENARADA, Bangalore, August 14, 2013:
This Independence Day would mark very special for people of Malleshwaram and other residents of Bangalore. They will be getting more freedom to unwind themselves in the form of a state of the art playground set for inauguration.
This modern playground located in Milk Colony of Subramanyapura in Malleshwaram would be thrown open to public by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 4.30 pm.
Detailing about the new infrastructure at a pre-event press conference today, Malleshwaram MLA Dr CN Ashwathnarayan said the stadium was special as it accommodates facilities for different sports, including cricket, basketball and volley ball.
“Also, there is a 100 metre running track, 300 meter inner running track and skating space. Also, there is enough space for public to sit and watch the sport events in the ground in addition to toilet and water facilities. The entire stadium is fitted with rain water harvesting facilities,” he added.
Ashwathnarayan pointed out that lack of space to breathe some fresh air and do exercises was leading many among the public to end up having multiple diseases.
“In order to find some solution in this regard, the playground has been built by the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in association with the Brigade Group. The playground will be one among the very few stadiums in the State, which have such modern facilities at one place,” he added.
Shashikala Krishnegowda, Corporator, Subramanyanagar ward, prominent residents of Malleshwaram along with representatives from Brigade Group were present on the occasion.
