Milk vendors of Mysore-Chamarajanagar District Milk Federation staged a protest today in front of Mysore Milk Dairy in Siddharthanagar demanding withdrawal of the recent circular which prohibits replacing the damaged milk and curds packets with new ones.

The protesters claimed that due low quality packaging and unscientific transportation practices, the Milk and Curds packets leaks, and after the Dairy stopped replacing the broken packets, 1280 authorised vendors are facing huge losses for not their fault at all.

By using thicker polythene covers while packing and redesigning the crates, breaking of Milk packets can be prevented, Vendors suggested.

Vendors also demanded hike in their commission to 8 percent from the existing 4 percent and requested the Dairy not to give permission to set up new vending outlets in the vicinity of the existing vendors, as their business gets affected.
