PSF Award presented to Social reformer Achyuta Samanta

The prestigious Dr Pinnamaneni and Smt Seetha Devi Foundation (PSF) Award for 2014 presented to noted educationist and Social reformer Achyuta Samanta in a glittering award ceremony held at siddharth auditorium in Vijayawada on  December 16, 2014.

Dr. Samanta has dedicated his life for the uplift of tribal children by providing free education in Odisha, the Foundation observed. It honoured him with a citation and Rs 5 lakh cash prize in presence of more than fifteen hundred eminent personalities from all parts of India and abroad. All were astonished to know about noble work done by Dr. Samanta, as a single person, in Odisha.

Dr. C. Nageswara Rao, Managing Trustee of the Foundation said, no other recipient of the award given by the Foundation till now deserved it more than Dr. Samanta. After receiving the award, Dr. Samanta spoke on the topic, ‘Service with Human Touch’ on the occasion.

“The awards were instituted not just to honour those personalities, but to  inspire others to emulate the good work being done by them. This year, we are presenting the PSF Award to Dr Achyuta Samanta, a man  from a humble background, who helped thousands of students excel and  achieve their goals in life through his Kalinga Institute of Industrial Training (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS),” Dr C Nageswara  Rao, managing trustee of the Foundation  said.

On in its 24th Awards function, foundation also presented Grama Pragati Puraskaram to progressive farmers from Chaldiganipalli, Chitoor District and members of Rural Development Trust, Ananthapur.

Dr. Pinnamaneni Trust, a prominent foundation established in 1989, has presented the awards every year to many eminent persons in literacy, tradition and arts, social service, health, science and other fields in the last two decades. Past recipients of the award include Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Dr. Verghese Kurien, Prof C. N. R. Rao, Sri Ramanand Sagar, Lata Mangeshkar, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Dr. Kiran Bedi, Dr. Jaya Prakash Narayan, Ustad Zakir Hussain and Prof. M. S. Swaminathan.
