ENARADA, Mysore, October 10, 2013:
In the continued tradition, the scion of Mysore royal family Srikantadatta Narasimaraja Wadiyar performed the saraswathi puja for musical instruments –Veena and Tamburi and many religious holy books inside the palace.
Only the members of royal family and selected guests witnessed the rituals as it was the private function. The puja was offered to their family portrait of goddess saraswathi.
This ritual will be held on the sixth day of dasara festivies on the auspicious Vrischika Lagna and Moola Nakshatra as per the hindu calander.

The traditional Cow Milking contest has turned out to be a crowd favorite and the proud cattle owners participated in the competition enthusiastically along with their cows.
Eating competition witnessed the participation of more women than men. Women contestants swallowed Bananas and Mysore pak sweets.
