US Fulbright Scholar Joins KISS and Czech Republic’s High Commissioner to India visits KISS

Renowned Professor, Christine Finnan has joined Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) for doing extensive research on the institute and its activities. She arrived in Bhubaneswar for this purpose with her lawyer husband George.

Czech Republic’s High Commissioner to India, Miloslav Stasek visited KISS today with 8-member business delegation.

Having passed Anthropology from Stanford University of USA and being a professor by occupation, Finnan will be here in KISS for more than one year to complete her research work. As the US Government has acknowledged KISS as a successful model school, it has been possible on the part of Finnan to come here.

The English Access Micro-scholarship Programme is being run in KISS for the last 5 years by the US Government. With respect to this programme, the US Government invites at least 5 to 6 students and teachers to visit America every year. Putting confidence on the success of English Access Micro Scholarship Programme, the US Govt. has delegated Finnan to KISS for research. Expressing his happiness on this, Founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta said US accreditation to KISS and delegating a Fulbright scholar here for research is a matter of great pride for the Institution.

The Fulbright Program is highly competitive, merit-based grants for international educational exchange for students, scholars, teachers, professionals, scientists and artists, founded by United States Senator J. William Fulbright in 1946. Under the Fulbright Program, competitively selected U.S. citizens may become eligible for scholarships to study, conduct research, or exercise their talents abroad; and citizens of other countries may qualify to do the same in the United States. The Fulbright Program is one of the most prestigious awards programs worldwide, operating in over 155 countries. Fifty-three Fulbright alumni have won Nobel Prizes.

Miloslav Stasek visits KISS

Czech Republic’s High Commissioner to India, His Excellency Mr. Miloslav Stasek visited KISS today with 8-member business delegation. He expressed happiness over the inclusion of KISS students in social mainstream, providing them advanced yet free education with wholesome development.
