Senior congress leader and MP from Karnataka, A H Vishwanath today welcomed the decision of the party to give Priority to workers rather than Elected representatives while appointing to the board and corporations posts.
Speaking to newsmen here he said that the party has come back to power in the state with the effort s of the party workers, hence, the due share of the prime posts of various boards and corporations should go them.
He said that during the Veerendra Patil’s ‘s tenure as chief minister in 1989, a resolution was passed in the CLP meeting that the board and corporation posts should be given to the party workers and not for the MLAS,
He also appealed to the KPCC to consider the microscopic Communities who could not get elected directly by the people while nominating the members to the urban local bodies including city corporations the state.
Stating that the people of the state has given congress party a clear mandate and now the party leaders under the leadership of the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should work for the people’s aspirations. It was also prime responsibility of the government to give good governance with complete transparency, he suggested.
Referring to leader of the opposition H D Kumaraswamy’s Statement on ‘operation hand’ in order to dislodge his status in the assembly, he said it was completely baseless and no truth in it.
The congress party has been in a comfortable position now to run the Government. No difference for the congress party who ever the Opposition party leaders. It was only gimmicks of Mr. Kumaraswamy, who wanted to lime light all the time. The Janata Dal (secular) party who was joining hands with the BJP to from the government not the congress party and even now they have been in touch with them, he pointed out.
Referring to establishment of the Tippu University in Historical town of Srirangapatna, he said he would come out with details shortly.
