Citizens are being informed by Oil and Gas Companies to produce Aadhaar Number for linking the Subsidy to Aadhaar, through SMS and Advertisements.  This has resulted in enormous rush for Aadhaar Enrolment.

Now communication has been received from Government of India informing that the linking of LPG subsidy to Aadhaar is being implemented only in three districts of Karnataka ie., Mysore, Tumkur and Dharwad on pilot basis.

In these three districts also, the date for linking Aadhaar to LPG subsidy has been extended by Government of India to 15th March 2013 from 15th February 2013.

It has also been clarified that the launch of the scheme will be taken up in these three districts only for the present and not in Bangalore or other districts of Karnataka, according to dr. D.S. Ravindran, Chief Executive Officer, Centre for e-Governance DPAR (E-Governance) Bangalore.

  1. Aadhaar based DBT is a very good initiative from the Indian government especially for people belonging to the rural region of the country. The success of this can be observed by the huge response the scheme has received from the Indian people. We should appreciate government’s efforts for this implementation.
