The United Nations’ (UN) Resident Coordinator and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Resident Representative in India Mr Yuri Afanasiev has said that the Kalinga Institute of Social Studies (KISS) voice will be heard in the UN.

He along with UNDP India country director Jaco Cilliers, deputy director Marina Walter visited the KISS campus on September 10 and interacted with more than 25 thousand tribal students studying at KISS.

Impressed with the KISS campus, Mr. Afanasiev said, “KISS is a unique model for upbringing the tribal students. KISS is now part of the United Nations as it has been granted the Special Consultative Status. Now, you can talk and consult to us directly and your voice will be heard in the UN.”

The visiting dignitaries expressed their happiness in the way KISS was functioning without anyone’s support.

They praised the initiative saying KISS was a tremendous approach and was beyond one’s imagination and extended all their support to the KISS initiatives.
