Large number of women performed Vatasavitri Puja, today. This ritual is rarely performed in Karnataka though it is common in North India.
Women, especially newly married, tie the thread around a sacred tree, perform puja and distribute prasadam. The belief is that this puja brings good luck and good health to their husband.
These photos are taken today at one such puja held at Kamaripeth Sriram Temple Premises, in Hubli.
