Actress Malavika joined BJP today after severing her ties with JD(S) . She was welcomed to the party by BJP state unit president and MP Prahlad Joshi at BJP’s headquarter’s Jagannatha Bhavan.
“Due to disappointment, I took a decision to end my One year and nine months relationship with JD(S)”, she said. But she requested journalists not to ask any questions for the actual reason for quitting JD(S) as she was not in a position to reveal the truth.
Soon after induction into the party, she said she was impressed with the leadership of ‘Advani’ and ‘Modi’. She praised Advani by quoting his remarks in the book ‘My Country and My Life’. She explained that her husband’s brother ‘Yalandur Ranganath’ was a full time RSS pracharak and she was happy to join that political outfit.
Avinash, her actor husband who was also welcomed to the stage to take a seat, clarified that he was present only to give an emotional support to his wife and he is not interested in joining any political party.
