Procession rehearsal for Dasara elephants

ENARADA, Mysore, September  26,2013:

The rehearsal began today for the elephants led by Arjuna (The elephant which carry Golden Howdah on the last day of Dasara) which participates in the Dasara Festivities.

Starting from today, elephants have to practice on a daily basis in order to smoothly take part in a grand procession scheduled on October 15.

A traditional pooja was performed before the start of rehearsal at the palace premises. The arjun was mounted with 55kgs of sand and wooden howdah.

All the 14 elephants were participated in the rehearsal in the 4.5 km route from Palace to Bannimantap grounds and return.

Principal chief conservator  of forests P C Prabhu and others present on the occasion.
