Karnataka government seems to be in a hurry to distribute sites in Kempegowda layout!

With elections nearing, government has asked the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) to speed up the site distribution process. It is estimated that around 5,000 sites are up for grabs in the next phase in ‘Naada Prabhu Kempegowda Layout’. As a result, the BDA head office, off Ballari road, has become a hub of busy activities.

While allottees are making a beeline to the BDA office to complete formalities , aspirants for the next call for are approaching to enquire the status and the land losers are not far behind. As BDA has to give back a portion of the developed land to the owners, the original land holders queues at BDA office to claim their compensation allotment.

On Thursday, it was an unusual scene as a 90-year old lady (one of the land owners) from sulibele, kengeri hobli had to visit the office. However, as she couldn’t walk and there is hardly any wheel chair accessibility in the BDA office, her relative had to literally carry her into the sub-register’s office located in BDA office. Though she couldn’t respond properly, her relatives helped her sit and complete the process of registration.
