Nihal Bangera, a first year BBM student SDM College in the city, drowned in the Phalguni river near Moodshedde on Saturday where he had gone for swimming.
Nihal, a resident of Bokkapatna had gone for outing on their motorcycles along with ten other friends for swimming as the exams had got over. It is believed that he might have been caught in rip current just off the vented dam resulting in his tragic death. Kavoor police rushed to the spot and the body was fished out with the help of locals.
