Further Mr Sandeep Maini, Vice Chairman, CII Karnataka said that “CII has always been a strong advocate for reducing regional imbalances”.

This is another area on which it would be keen to work with the Government through district development plans. The new Government, he said, should focus on developing IT, manufacturing, food processing, textile industries in Tier II & III cities.

CII believes that the issue of connectivity is one of the critical challenges facing the city and assured CM and the government their full support and assisting in addressing any other issues relating to the development of Mysore. Towards this effort to provide Air Connectivity to Mysore, CII has accomplished a survey and held series of discussion involving various stake holders such as Airport Authority of India, Corporate, Hotels, Travel houses, government etc. The same was presented to Airport Authority of India to revitalize the air connectivity to Mysore. Also, CII in partnership with major corporate from Mysore will positively promote Mysore on the Airmap.

The delegation urged the New Government to consider fast tracking on Air Connectivity, Road and Railways.

Accelerate due Land acquisitions in order to realign part of NH-212 connecting Mysore to Nanjangud since this being crucial for the proposed runway which cuts through the existing highway creating no scope for airport expansion.

Develop Bangalore-Kanakapura-Malavalli road to four lane expressway to cut down pressure on Bangalore-Mysore expressway and to have an alternate route to link Mysore to Bangalore via Malavalli.

The delegation urged the Government to take a mission-mode approach to improve connectivity. CII strongly recommended a joint committee be created, in which industry, urban planning experts and others given a role in ensuring overall infrastructure development of Mysore.

Focus on Bangalore’s eco-system is a much needed imperative which CII has recommended to the government to take as top priority. Improving connectivity and reducing congestion on the roads would be a boon to Bangaloreans. The issues related to water bodies are also a cause for major concern. CII has proposed to the State to set up a water taskforce with a clear mandate to bring the impending water problems of the State to a speedy resolution.

CII has put forth to the government to speed up the progress on the Bangalore – Chennai Corridor, Mumbai – Bangalore Corridor and also focus on connecting the north and south of Karnataka through a specific North – South Diamond corridor.
