The coastal regions of Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada have a rare achievement to their credit as the top three spots in PUC, the results of which were announced this evening, have been bagged by these three districts.
Udupi district topped the table in the state by securing the highest pass percentage of 92.72 followed by Dakshina Kannada, 91.76 per cent and Uttara Kannada 82.97 percent, securing second and third place respectively.
The results were declared on this evening by Kumar Nayak, secretary of primary and secondary education board.
The total pass percentage across the state in different streams stood at a not-so-impressive 59.36 percent.
Altogether 6.11 lac students appeared for the exam out of 3.63 lac students have passed out.
Yadgir stood at the bottom of the table with 46.02 percent. Among the different streams, commerce students topped the list followed by science and arts.
