ENARADA, Hubli, October 7, 2013:

Hubli-Dharwad twin cities bandh went on peacefully today. Bandh was supported by various political parties, Farmer’s associations, Business forums, Kannada organisations and local leaders to put pressure for completing the work on Kalasa Banduri Nala Project which provides drinking water to residents of Hubli and Dharwad.

By taking out a march from various localities protesters assembled at Kittur Rani Chennamma circle and raised slogans against State and Central Government for neglecting the issue. Later in the leadership of State Raitha Sangha president Kodihalli Chandrashekar, they submitted memorandum to Tahasildar.

Except medical shops and Hospitals all other Shops and business establishments were closed. Protesters went to Hubli railway station and stopped Amaravathi Express train for some time.
