ENARADA, Bengaluru, February 20, 2016

The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), which is the world’s largest residential tribal school, is set for twin records. This time, 1,300 tribal students from a single school are to appear in the tenth standard exams (Odisha Board of Secondary Education 2016).

This will be a new record for highest number of scheduled tribe students of a single school appearing in an exam in any part of the world.It is also a record in India for the highest number of students from a single school appearing the any tenth board exam.

Among these students, 700 are boys and 600 girls. Many students belong to primitive tribal groups and those getting educated for the first time in generations.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS distributed pens to the students on Friday and wished them success in the forthcoming exam. It is the 15th batch of KISS appearing the 10th exam. KISS has been achieving cent percent result in board exam since its first batch.

The board exam will start from February 22 and end on March 4.
