“Knights in Khakhi” by Round Table India

ENARADA, Bangalore, February 15, 2013: Round Table India organised the 2nd annual “Knights in Khaki” event in Bangalore. The event is Round Table India’s annual initiative to recognise the efforts of the front line soldiers in the police department.

Round Table India has taken initiative to recognise the efforts of our unsung heroes in the police department whose work goes unnoticed in the swift progression of life. This event was presided over by B N S Reddy, Joint Commissioner, City Armed Reserve Force, Bangalore, Government of Karnataka, B G Jyothiprakash Mirji, Police Commissioner, Bangalore City, Government of Karnataka and Kannada actress Priyanka Upendra.

The commendable candidates for the nominations included, front line police personnel such as police constables, senior and head constables and assistant sub inspector levels. The list comprised 100 police personnel, out of which 21 were selected representing three from each subdivision. There are six women and 15 men police personnel. Their contributions ranged from helping in busting drug rackets, car thefts, dowry harassment and solving murder investigations.

Mr. Aditya Sanghi, Chairman, Bangalore Round Table 7, said “Round Table India and its members help contribute to the development of the society in our own capacity. There is a lot of effort that needs to go in to make our society an improved and self sustained healthy environment. Our police force is one of the main pillars of our society. The Knights in Khaki initiative is a small gesture to recognize the noteworthy efforts of our front line police personnel.”

B N S Reddy said “The efforts of our officers need to be acknowledged irrespective of their designations. The contributions of our police constables and inspectors, goes a great mile in establishing faith on the complete police force”.

Mirji said: “Many a times our police force are positioned in bad light in the society. We are delighted that Round Table India has taken up the initiative to honour the police force in a praiseworthy way”.
