Bangalore, March 5, 2013:
CBEC, Ministry of Finance has notified Mangalore Airport as International Airport for the purpose of Cargo Complex vide its notification No 15/2013-Cus (NT) dated 31.01.2013, it was announced today.
With this Air Cargo Operations can now be undertaken at Mangalore Airport.
Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, M Veerappa Moily had earlier taken up the matter with the CBEC, Ministry of Finance for notifying Mangalore Airport as Customs Airport under the provisions of Section 7 of Customs Act, 1962 for the purpose of “unloading of baggage and the loading of baggage”.
