ENARADA, Mysore, September 3, 2013:

Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) today, urged the government for setting up of trade centre in the city for professionals meet, workshops and trade fairs.

On the various demands put before the government by MCCI, Revenue Minister V. Srinivasa Prasad said that special meeting with Chief minister Siddaramiah would be arranged very soon in Bangalore to discuss in detail.

He was speaking at the interaction sessions organized by MCCI and other affiliated associations of Mysore and Chamarajanagara districts.  He   assured that all the demands of MCCI for the overall development of the Mysore region would be considered including the double track railway lane between Bangalore and Mysore.

“The doubling track work was delayed due to land acquisition hurdles between Mandya and Mysore and same was sorted out and works for the completion speed up now” he said.

He also said  that there was same kind of problem in double track between Bangalore and Hassan works,  hence,  he had already discussed  the issue with  Hassan  deputy commissioner  to set right the land acquisition to facilitate  speedup the works .

Referring to four line works between Mysore and Nanjangud town which was once rejected, but now cleared by the union surface transport department, a revised estimate of Rs 750 crores was already approved, he added.

On the upgradation of Mysore airport , he said that there are minor hurdles which  has to be discussed with  civil aviation  ministry and same would be taken after discussing with the Chief Minister soon.

Mr. Srinivasa Prasad , who is also Mysore District incahrge minister  said that the world famous Dasara festivities(nada habba ) which has been celebrating  in a grand manner and sought he  cooperation from the MCCI, a meeting of all stake holders of the city would be conveyed soon by the  district administration to suggestions on  conducting   mega event .

About 200 industrial sector office bearers and stake holders took part in the meeting.
