Cauvery river issue is on the boil again and the latest trigger is Mekedatu. Mekedatu is one of the ambitious projects of the Karnataka government to provide additional water and power to Bengaluru.
Karnataka govt received the shot in the arm recently when the Central Water Commission okayed the proposal in principle and sought a detailed project report from Karnataka. While the officials/politicians at this side of Cauvery were jubilant, the mood in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry has been otherwise.
