Mekedatu-Karnataka government’s leap

Cauvery river issue is on the boil again and the latest trigger is Mekedatu. Mekedatu is one of the ambitious projects of the Karnataka government to provide additional water and power to Bengaluru.

Karnataka govt received the shot in the arm recently when the Central Water Commission okayed the proposal in principle and sought a detailed project report from Karnataka. While the officials/politicians at this side of Cauvery were jubilant, the mood in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry has been otherwise.

To get the first-hand experience as to what is this project all about, eNarada team visited the Mekedatu balancing reservoir site. Our team had extensive discussions with the Water Resources Ministry as well as its minister DK Shivakumar. So, based on our research and team visit, we present you a special video on Mekedatu.
