In an incident that can be termed as bizarre with  all the ingredients of a modern masala movie a  ‘murdered’ man  Imtiaz (22) from Kambalabettu in Shanthinagar,  in Vittal, has come alive  much to the consternation of his family members.  Apart from his family members his coming alive has resulted in the reinstatement of Vittal Station sub-inspector Madhava Koodlu, who was suspended for dereliction of duty based on the complaint filed by the family of Abdul Rahiman.

Itmiaz, son of Abdul Rahiman, had left for Hyderabad in search of a job in the first week of May 7 this year without informing his family.  His worried mother had filed a missing complaint on May 9, 2013.  Since Imtiaz was in love with a girl, one of his classmates and the alliance was disapproved by both families. In the meantime the girl was married of to someone else.   Under this background the boy’s family suspected that Imtiaz was killed by the family of the girl as Imtiaz had not contacted his family once he left his native place.

Just last week on June 7, 2013 newspapers had reported about the recovery of a lifeless body on the banks of river Netravati.  When Imtiaz’s family contacted Vittal police station they were informed that the unidentified body was disposed soon after post-mortem.  Imtiaz’s family who saw the deceased photograph came to the conclusion that the said body was of Imtiaz and issued a press statement blaming the girl’s family of killing him.

Imtiaz’s family took the complaint to Minister Ramanath Rai who spoke to Inspector General of Police.  With minister’s intervention, IGP was left with no other alternative but to ask the Superintendent of Police to suspend SI Madhava Koodlu for improper investigation.

The entire story unfolded with the coming back of Imtiaz after a month of his leaving for Hyderabad.  He revealed that since he failed to get a good job in Hyderabad despite his best efforts he decided to come back home and meet his family.   With his coming back ‘alive’ his family is ecstatic and are thanking god for giving them back their son.  Suspended S I Madhava Koodulu is also thanking his stars and his good fortune for saving him from a ugly mess.   We can say all is well that ends well.
