ENARADA, Hubli, October 2, 2013:

Union minister for Railways Mallikarjun Kharge , today inaugurated two trains from Hubli Junction.

Hubli- Secunderabad Junction train will cover a distance of 663KM and halts at Annigeri, Gadag Junction, Hole Alur, Badami, Bagalkot, Almatti, Bagevadi Road, Bijapur, Indi Road, Hotgi Junction, Ganagapur Road, Gulbarga, Wadi Junction, Chittapur, Sedam, Tandur, Vikarabad Junction, Lingampalli, Begumpet before reaching Secunderabad junction.

Hubli to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus train  halts at Dharwar, Londa, Belgaum, Ghatprabha,Kudachi, Miraj, Sangli, Karad, Satara, Pune and Lonavala before reaching Lokamanya Tilak Terminus.

Speaking on the occasion, Kharge said that he will strive hard to get important railway projects of Karnataka cleared. “I am happy to start these two trains and I will put maximum efforts in future to clear all the railway projects of Karnataka” he said.

By citing an example of delayed Hubli- Ankola train due to environmental issue, he requested the state government to clear the local issues which are obstacles to implement the project.

He further added that the railway department has kept the prices of passengers train tickets too low for helping the poor people. To make up this revenue loss, department is contemplating increasing the rates for goods transportation, he explained.
