ENARADA, Mysore, October 9, 2013:

The Karnataka government has decided to take up resurvey of all the lands across the state   under the central government ‘S National Land Records Modernization Programme (NLRMP) said V. Srinivasa Prasad, revenue minster here today.

He said  the union government has sanctioned Rs 14 crores for the state government and the state government would also give appropriate funds to take the resurvey works soon.

“This resurvey programme will be taken initially in five districts – Chikkaballapura, Bangalore rural, Ramanagara, Tumkur and Belgaum, later the same would be extended to other districts across the state”  he added.

This programme will help in identifying their lands, border and areas, which bring down and remove the land disputes among the people, he pointed out.

Appointment of surveyors
Karnataka government issued appointment orders to recruit 1,858 surveyors across the state, Revenue minister V Srinivasa Prasad, announced here today.

Speaking to journalists after issuing first such appointment orders in Mysore Region  he said the Karnataka Examination Authority conducted the examination in which 1704 were passed and 154 were rejected even though they passed in the examinations by the previous government.

Stating that Sanctioned surveyors’ posts are 4,012. Presently, 1,772 surveyors are working and 2,220 posts are vacant. Recruitment process was completed and eligible 1,858 surveyors was appointed. The minister also said the remuneration of surveyors would be hiked significantly.

He said the licensed surveyors had demanded that they be absorbed as government surveyors, but their demand could not be considered as most of them are overage  however,  the government has provided other benefits like increasing the survey fee of  Rs  900from  Rs 300 with minimum of 15 such survey works to them per month, he said.
