Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has a major impact on the society, said Prakash Nair, chief of Infosys leadership centre.

Speaking on the session  ‘Corporate Social Responsibility – Sensitizing the Youth’  organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Mysore in association with GSSS Centre for PG Studies & Research, Prakash Nair  urged the government, NGOs, corporations, institutions, individuals and youth to indulge largely in socially responsible activities to make positive change in the field of education, sanitation, agriculture and environment.

”According to the studies by the World Bank, 33 pc of the Indian population is living below poverty line and 40 percent of the school children are tend to drop out of school at an young of 10” Nair said.

The President of Erin Foundation, Sai Prakash, felt the need for creating awareness about Social Resoponsibility (SR) in the first place.

Arjun Ranga, Managing Partner of N Rangarao and Sons delivered a Keynote Address on ‘Importance of CSR in the World of Business. “Proactive CSR will immensely help the recipients while CSR which is done for the sake of doing it will not be useful to society” said Arjun Ranga.

Over 400 college students were present at the event. As a responsible citizen of the country, students took an oath that they would vote without any excuses.
