ENARADA, Mysore, August 29, 2013:
While creating hype around Cricket other sports are neglected , lamented SP of Mysore Abhinav Khare. He was speaking on the occassion of today’s walkathon in the city.
“The society should treat all sports equal and any discrimination discourages the sports enthusiasts to follow their career” he said.
To mark the birth anniversary of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand , sports lovers and students took part in the walkathon in the city today.
The event started in front of Mysore palace’s Balaram Gate and culminated at university hockey grounds. Later a hockey tournament was conducted.
The event was jointly organized by the zilla panchyat, youth services and sports and National Sports day celebrations committee.
