Mangalore comes alive to the rhythmic tunes of Mosaru Kudike celebrations

The entire city of Mangalore reverberated to the rhythmic tunes of ‘Mosaru Kudike’ in celebration of Sri Krishna Janmashtami, celebrated with great pomp and glory in three major parts of Mangalore city.

There was a sea of people on the streets of Attavara, Kadri and Urva as evening approached, to watch Mosaru  Kudike celebrations  unveil in all its gaiety and splendor.  The streets in these areas were decked up with decorations and colourful earthen pots could be seen hung in many important junctions of the road through which the procession passed.

People were seen waiting at vantage positions  so that they could get a glimpse of people forming a human ladder to break the earthen pots, procession comprising attractive and colourful tableaus, stills, Payattam, Chende, Dandiya, Tiger dance,  music  bands  and  bursting of crackers.

The Sri Krishna Janma Mahotsava Samiti of Kadri began its procession from Gopalakrishna mutt at around 6 pm and all through the procession covering areas like Kambla junction and Mallikatta.  A huge crowd of people joined the procession and enjoyed the breaking of pots and the colourful water splashing all around.

The police had madw elaborate arrangements to ensure the celebrations in a smooth way.   As such despite the deluge of people congregating at Mallikatte  grounds  the celebrations went on smoothly without any hiccups.

In Kadri Mallikatta ground there was Star Nite 2013 programme organized by Kadri Cricketers Mangalore as part of Mosaru Kudike celebrations.  In the past few years Kadri Cricketers had invited guests like Guru Kiran, actor Darshan, Ganesh, Pooja, Vijay Prakash and many others.  This year singers like Junior Rajkumar Jagadish Chopra, Deepak Doddera,  Sri Raksha & Supriya Lolith entertained the audience this evening.  Many well-known names from sandalwood namely Manikanth Kadri, Abhay Simha, Mahesh Sunkadare, Vani Haripriya, Nisha Yogeshywar,  Shweta Srivatsava  and many others added glamour  to the entertainment programme.

Devotion, prayers, frolic, entertainment and glamour was the main highlight of the mosaru kudike programme.
