Victim of Central African Firing Krishnaiah Mogaveera laid to rest

Kundapur, April 2, 2013:

The body of Krishnaiah Mogaveera, one of the victims of the firing by French troops in Central African Republic on March 26, due to a mistaken identity, was laid to rest in his hometown in Balkunje, Hemmady Village near Kundapur on Monday, April 1, 2013.

His body arrived at Balkunje at around 3 pm where a large number of people had gathered to bid farewell to the departed soul. The body of Krishnaiah was accompanied by K Udaya, who was also injured in the same firing.   Family members, relatives, friends and well-wishers had gathered in large number at Krishnaiah’s house at Kattu, near Hemmady.

Earlier, in a symbolic gesture French consul general from Bangalore Eric Lavertu and press attaché Hemangini Rakshit visited the family of Krishnaiah Mogaveera today and expressed his grief at the unfortunate incident.  He also promised to arrange necessary compensation to the family at the earliest.
