It was a sad day in Karnataka as one of the most respected seers-Sri Shivakumara Swami of Siddaganga Mutt passed away after brief illness on Monday.

The 111-year-old revered seer was popularly known as walking God among his devotees. He was also one of the very few seers who was respected by all faiths.

Thousands of grieving followers gathered at Siddaganga Mutt, Kyatasandra (near Tumkur). He miraculously recovered but breathed his last on Monday morning.

CM Kumaraswamy said, “Swamiji had lightened up the lives of innumerable children through trividha dasoha. His services of providing food, shelter and education to the needy and poor was a model for everyone beyond the borders of region, language, caste and religion, he said. Hence once again Government will urge Union Government to confer him Bharat Ratna posthumously. Swamiji may not be with us any more physically, but service activities of this Kayaka yogi through this mutt are immortal, they will remain in our hearts forever.”
