Minster Inaugurates Gaddige Garden

Madikeri, March 01 (Karnataka News):- District in-charge minister A. P Appachchuranjan, Member of the state council T. John and others unveiled the garden for public use. The garden is constructed by Madikeri city development authority at a cost of Rs. 56 lakhs.

Ministers and MLAs entered the garden by cutting the tape and said the locals at the area had been requesting for a garden in Gaddige for many years. Accordingly, a garden has been built after Madikeri city development authority collected money from different sources. He advised to maintain the garden well.

Gaddige seats of Kings have ancient history and the city development authority should come forward to develop this as a tourist attraction like Raja seat. The Directorate of Archeology should take care of safeguarding buildings in Gaddige. The Minister stated that every type of aid will be provided by the government to safeguard buildings in Gaddige.

Member of the state council T. John said that a garden is built in Madikeri city Gaddige. This should be maintained even better. Rs. 5 lakhs will be released from state council member grants for this purpose. Also, tombs in Gaddige should be repainted, he said. 

P. Sajila Krishna, President of Madikeri city development authority, Ramesh Holla, President of Omkareshwara Temple management committee, C. K. Balakrishna, Arun Kumar, Ashraf Unnis, Chitra Devaraj, Mahesh Jain, Commissioner of city development authority Asad R. Shariff, city commissioner N. M. Shashikumar were present.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Creation of Ponnampete Taluk – Delegation meets the minsiter

     Madikeri, March 01 (Karnataka News):- A delegation representing Poonampete Civil Services Committee met K. G. Bopayya, President of Legislative Assembly and District in-charge minister A. P Appachchuranjan in their offices in the city for the creation of Poonampete taluk. They submitted an appeal in this regard for the creation of Taluk.

     Matranda Appachchu, Impresario of Civil Services Committee, Rekha Shridhar, President, Poonampete Gram Panchayat, Shareen Subbayya, member Jilla Panchayat, Arun Bheemayya, President, Taluka Panchayat, Titira Urmila, Vice President, Addanda C. Karyappa, Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Academy, Cheppudira Ponnappa, President, Poonampete Kodava Community, Dau Poovayya, senior citizen and others met the ministers.

     Poonampete has 20 Gram Panchayats, four Hoblis, and a population of 1.2 lakhs and is eligible to be a Taluk in every respect. Similarly, Girijanas are residing in a large number in Poonampete area and hence, members of the committee urged that Poonampete Taluk should be created to make basic infrastructure immediately available to people in the rural area.

Minister Appachchuranjan spoke on the occasion and said the delegation will be taken to the Chief Minister once the Panchayat elections are over.

 

Janapada Vaibhava Program

Madikeri, March 01 (Karnataka News):- Janapada Vaibhava program was conducted under the joint patronage of Kannada and Culture department, Kirangaduru government high school, Kirangaduru literary and cultural association under ‘Chiguru’ program.

B. Shivappa, President of Jilla Panchayat spoke on the occasion and stated that Chiguru program is a good program and it brings forth the hidden talents in children. He said we should encourage Indian culture and come out of western culture.

Member of Jilla Panchayat, H. S, Venkappa was the chief guest and said extracurricular activities should be encouraged and also encouragement should be given to the local artists. President of Kirangaduru Grama Panchayat, Vimala Bopayya presided over the program and A. K. Joyappa, President, School Development Committee was present.

Head master of the school K. Suresh welcomed the guests and teacher Viju presented while Suleman conducted thanksgiving. Children presented a beautiful Janapada Vaibhava program.

Ayush Arogya Shibira on March 4, 5 and 7

Madikeri, March 01 (Karnataka News):- Ayush Arogya Shibira will be conducted under N.R.H.M plan for the year 2012-13 by Kodagu District Ayush department on March 4 at Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama of Poonampete, Community Health Center of Kushalanagar on March 05 and at Primary Health Center of Moornadu on March 07

There will be free health checkup and medicines will be distributed in the camp. Madikeri district Ayush Officer has requested the public to participate in this program and make it a success by taking use of its facilities.
