Mangalore,Udupi , April 21, 2013:
Following the last date of withdrawals of nominations for the forthcoming assembly elections there are a total 71 candidates left in the fray in Dakshina Kannada and 46 candidates in Udupi districts.
While the Congress, BJP, JD(S) and KJP have fielded candidates from all the eight constituencies of Dakshina Kannada there is one BSP and 38 other candidates in the fray in others category.
In Udupi there are 46 candidates contesting for the five assembly seats. BJP and Congress are contesting in all the five assembly seats, JD(S) in four and it supports independent candidate Halady Srinivas Shetty in Kundapur. KJP is contesting in 2, BSP in 3 and there are 27 others.
