Four dance troupes from Mangalore and Udupi – Dance group from Beasant Women’s College, sizzling Guys, Smart Guys Dance Group Udupi and Ocean Kids, Mangalore, have been selected in the first round city auditions of the 7up Dance on national dance contest.
These teams have been selected in the first round city auditions held across 15 cities of south. 32 teams from Karnataka, Kerala and Andra Pradesh and 28 teams from Tamilnadu are going to contest in the inter-state audition to be held in Bangalroe on April 24 and 27. Seven teams will be selected from these regional auditions and they will get an opportunity to take part in the semifinal to be held at Chennai on May 13, 2013. Well known Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar will be the jury in the final round which will be held in Chennai on May 14, 2013.
The group that secures highest votes will get a wild card entry to the contest and the video of their dance performance will be uploaded on the 7up website. The 1st prize winners will romp home a cash prize of Rs. 21 lakhs, runner-up Rs. 15 lakhs and the second runner-up will get Rs. 7 lakhs. /ENN
