ENARADA, Mysore, September 2, 2013:

Speaking to journalists today at Mysore helipad, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah hinted about Cabinet Expansion.

He said the issue would be discussed with party high command and once the approval received the cabinet expansion would be taken up.

It can be recalled that there are few Congress Leaders including MLA D.K.Shivakumar and Congress state unit president G Parameshwar are trying hard to get into the cabinet.

By playing a vital role in getting congress Candidate elected to Loksabha in the recently held bye-election, D.K.Shivakumar proved that he is a big force and deserved to be a minister.  In fact DKS was an aspirant for the CM post but High command selected Siddaramaiah as CM.

G.Parameshwar, though lost his assembly seat, is working hard behind the scene to become Deputy Chief Minister.  Party loyalists feel that Parameshwar too deserve ministerial berth as he was instrumental in bringing Congress back to power in the state.

Exemption from Entry Tax
Tourists from other states who wish to take part in Mysore Dasara Festival, need not pay entry tax for the tourist vehicles they use.

Kanataka chief minister Siddaramiah today announced that the entry tax for the other state vehicles in the state will be exempted for 15 days from October 1 in view of the famous dasara festivities here.

“This exemption was necessary in order to boost the tourist flow to the state particularly Mysore city which is hosting Nadahabba (state festival) in a grand manner commencing from October 5” he said.

Airport Expansion
While referring to expansion of Mandakali airport in the city, he said the issue would be discussed with the union civil aviation ministry and there were some hurdles to take up the work since, the national high way is passing through.

As far as appointment of chairman for the board and corporations in the state, he said the issue will be taken up very soon after consulting with the AICC General Secretary Digvijya Singh, who is also in charge of the state he added.
