ENARADA, Bhubaneswar, August 16, 2013:

Odisha Police Director General and Inspector General, Shri Prakash Mishra inaugurated the e-Surveillance System in KIIT University campus on August 16, 2013.

Inaugurating the system he said, the CCTV is a modern facility and it has become essential these days. Some cities of the country have adopted this system for public security, he informed, adding that e-Surveillance system will be introduced in Bhubaneswar on priority basis and in many towns of the state subsequently.

Speaking on the security system of the state, he said, law and order apparatus of the state has capability to handle any kind of situation. The e-Surveillance system in KIIT will benefit student, staff and general public living in the area, the DG & IG said. He appreciated high quality education in KIIT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), stating that the two institutes are role models for others.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. A. Samanta, Founder KIIT & KISS said, Shri Mishra is the best person to inaugurate the e-Surveillance System in KIIT University. “As a result of the new facility, students, teachers and staff of the institute will feel secure” he added.

KIIT is proud to have installed Asia’s biggest e-Surveillance network possible in a university where 1413 CCTV including 50 PTCs wireless cameras are installed. Another 1000 CCTV cameras are going to be installed in the coming month, according to sources. Among others, Shri R. N. Dash, Secretary, KIIT & KISS, Dr. P. P. Mathur, VC, KIIT University, Dr. Satyendra Patnaik, Rector and Dr. Sasmita Samanta, Registrar were also present.
