Mangalore, May 23, 2013;

Chairman and Managing Director of the city based PVS Group passed away at 4.00pm on May 22, Wednesday, following brief illness. He was 79 years.

Mr, Kushe joined PVS Beedies, which was founded by his father in law Puthu Vaikunta Shet at an early age of 21. He was the first to achieve a major breakthrough in the field to export beedies to foreign countries. Credit of being the first employer to introduce the group insurance and provident Fund facility in the beedi industry.

Kushe and his wife Sarojini are known for their Generosity and Philanthropic activities. The are the biggest donor to the city for the complete renovation of Tagore Park and the Clock Tower at PVS Circle.

Their Educational services Includes  establishing  of Sarojini Madhusudan Kushe School and PU College in Mangalore at Attavar and PVS Sarojini Madhusudan Kushe Higher Secondary School in Assagao, Bardez., Goa.

Kushe was the president of the All India Beedi Industry Bombay , president of the Karnataka Beedi Industries Association, Mangalore. He was the managing trustee of the Venkataramana Temple in Dongrakery for more than two decades.

His innovation was the  PVS SADAN at Kodialbail, Mangalore , the tallest building in 1978 along the west coast outside Bombay and the PVS KALA KUNJ the most morden auditorium.

He is survived by wife Sarojini M Kushe.
