ENARADA, Mysore  September 1 ,2013:

A two day event ‘Jalapatotsava’, showcasing the tourism potential in the twin falls – Bharachukii and Gaganacuhukki started in a colorful note last night in chamarajanagara district.

This is the second time that the district administration has organized the event at Baharacukki jalapatotsava in a grand manner.

The Bharachukki and Gaganachukki falls are together known as the Shivanasamudra Falls. To witness   colour full lighting around the falls and focussed lights for the water falls of nearly 300 feet height was a feast to eyes. The  waterfalls are best viewed from the Shivanasamudra watch tower.

Folk troupes such as the Goravara Kunita, Garudi Gombe, Veeraghase, Nandi Kamba, Beesu Kamsale, Dollu Kunita, Keelu Kudure, Tamate, and Gorukana Kunita performed in the procession.

Soon after the inaugural function, Doddagavi Basappa and his team sang the ‘Tamboori Pada’ followed by the ‘Sangeetha Gange’.
