As the city was getting ready to sleep, a section of geeks were busy assembling near the UB City. The queue grew longer as time passed and the wait came to end with the clock turning 00.00. Their patient wait for months bore them the brand new iPhone 6s and 6s plus!
In fact, this was the fastest rollout of new iPhone models in India which have been released within a month of US sales. The first proud owner of the brand new iPhone in Bengaluru was Parandhaman, a resident of Double Road. As he laid his hands on the gizmo, it couldn’t have been a better birthday gift for him!
This year, many expected a low turnout for the iPhone shop launch due to the increasing demand for online shopping. However, it turned out to be not true in the case of iPhones.
The staffers had to make elaborate arrangements to control the crowd frenzy and customers were allowed only in a batch of five at a time and the sales went up to the wee hours of Friday.

Speaking to Enarada.com, Rajesh Narang, CEO, Ample Technologies said, “There is still a lot of craze among people to buy it from shops first hand. It has been a tradition where in we see lot of emotions being attached with the launch of Apple products. We have around 11 retail outlets in Bengaluru and all of them have reported brisk sales. In fact, a customer has purchased 16 units of the iPhone to gift to his staff at our outlet in Orion Mall, Rajajinagar.”
As the customers picked up their iPhones, the entire area turned into a festive zone. It was common to see the new owners making debut with their phones with a selfie.
Rajesh Jain had travelled 900 km to reach Bengaluru from Rajahmundry to buy his gizmo. Speaking to Enarada.com, he said though there was iPhone launch at Vishakhapatnam (190 kilometres from Rajahmundry), he still preferred to travel to Bengaluru as he didn’t want to miss the opportunity of being one of the first customers in India’s silicon valley.
It was not just inter-state travelling by customers as Srinivasan flew all the way from Dhaka to be present on the occasion. In fact, Srinivasan, who runs a industrial floring firm was to reach Bengaluru on Friday. However, he advanced it by a day to ensure that he was physically present at the launch and gift the brand new phone to his son.
The launch also saw the presence of SKGC group (Salman Ahmed, Kundan, Gopal Patel and Chetan Shankar). The young businessmen from Nagarthpet have a habit of making it in group wherever they go. As one of their team members-Chetan was buying an iPhone, the entire group was present to cheer him.
While the proud owners of iPhone were trying to call up their families to share their joy of buying, Ashish said he had bought the new gizmo only to click pictures and shoot videos.
Every iPhone buyer had a tale to narrate as to why they were risking their sleep to celebrate the joyous moment.
The new iPhone 6s feature a 3D touch display technology that allows the screen panel to differentiate between types of touches and taps in preloaded apps as well as on the home screen. The iPhone 6s and 6s plus are powered by the new A9 processor with 2GB RAM and run iOS 9 erating system.
It was a special birthday gift for Parandhaman as he was the first Bengalurean to buy the gizmo.

The new 64-bit A9 chipset is said to be 70 per cent faster at carrying out processes than the previous versions and the graphic processing is also said to be 90 per cent faster. Another additional feature is live photos so that the photos can converted into short videos. The iPhone 6S priced at Rs 62,000-16GB, Rs 72,000-64GB, and Rs 82,000-128GB, while iPhone 6S Plus comes at a cost of Rs 72,000-16GB, Rs 82,000-64GB, and Rs 92,000-128GB variants.
