ENARADA, Mysore, September 5, 2013:

The University of Mysore in a paying tribute to former president of India, and Philosopher cum Statesman Sarvepalli  Radhakrishnan, on the teachers day today,  dedicated to public a centre for  philosophy and Indian culture.

The centre was established in the renovated 100 year old building popularly known as Radhakrishan bungalow.  Dr Radhakrishnan, who was a professor in philosophy at the University of Mysore from 1918 to 1921 used to stay in this building.

The main aim of the centre was to bring out publications on topics of philosophy and Indian culture with emphasis on Dr. Radhakrishnan.

The centre will also house a library with books on Indian in and western philosophy.

The vice chancellor of Mysore University Dr k s Rangappa   unveiled the portrait of Radhakrishnan. Mukthananda swamiji of Sri Ramakrishna mutt was present on the occasion.
