ENARADA ,Mysore, December 6, 2013:
As part of the campaign to construct a monument in memory of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Gujarat, a unique marathon ‘Run for Unity’ will be held across the country.
The marathon will be held in 28 places in Karnataka State on December 15 under the aegis of the Sardar Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust headed by Gujarat CM and BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi.
Speaking to media persons here Gujarat energy minister Saurabhbhai patel said the run was particularly to collect iron, water and soil from 7 lakh villages across the country for the proposed 182 metre tall statue of Patel, which is to be erected in the middle of Narendra river-bed, Gujarat.
He further added that the collected used farming tools tools will be smelted and used as raw material in the construction of the statue, with a firm determination of “Ek Bharath – Shreshth Bharath”.
