ENARADA, Mysore, September 18,2013:

The state government has decided to take extra steps to treat visitors with  special Dasara Film Festival and Cultural Programs in  the Famous Dasara festivities .

Speaking to journalists, Cultural sub-committee chairman Mohan kumar said that the cultural events of Dasara festivities will be held in as many as seven places across the city for nine days. The main cultural event programmes in front of illuminated palace will takes place in four phases every day.

Cultural Program:
Artists from Local , State, National and International level will present their best performances from October 5.

Leading artists  have already been invited to give their programmes during the dasara festivities . The committee also plans to invite Russian artists groups who are already in the country to perform during Dasara festivities, he added.

There will be 155 cultural programmes including Karnataka music, Hindustani music , Gazal, Devotional  songs and Dance .

The committee also decided to arrange a special musical program from dawn to dusk on October 6   by thousands of the musicians and artists.

To give more boost to dasara festivities, three day musical programme is arranged at Bangalore airport to attract the tourists, particularly foreign tourists from October 4 to 6, he said.

Dasara Film Festival:
The Dasara Film Festival will be held from October 5 to 12 and will feature movies reflecting the culture and glory of the State.  While the inauguration will be held at the Kalamandira on October 5, films will be screened at the Senate Bhavan, Scouts and Guides auditorium and a few select theatres in the city.

The sub-committee, which met under the chairmanship of Meena Tugudeep Srinivas, has decided to impart a touch of glamour to the film festival and will invite leading cine stars from the Kannada film industry for the inauguration.

It was also decided to felicitate Chetan Ramarao and Renuka Prasad of Mysore for their contribution to the film industry, and commemorate the memories of Ashwath, Ratnakar and Mysore Lokesh by felicitating their family members.

Five theatres will screen 30 movies from October 5 to 10, while 24 movies will be screened at Bharat Scout and Guides grounds at the rate of three shows for eight days.

At Senate Bhavan, Manasagangotgri campus, 16 movies will be screened — two movies a day for eight days. The authorities have also planned one movie every night at JK Grounds .
