ENARADA, Mysore, September 12 ,2013:
The government will invite scion of the Mysore royal family Srikantadatta Narasimhaja Wadiyar to the state-run Dasara festivities commencing here from October 5.
Meanwhile preparations for the ten-day event is already began in full swing. The district administration to extend the invitation to Karnataka governor H R Bhardwaj, chief ministers Siddaramaiah and other top leaders to participate in the famous Mysore Dasara Festivities.
Speaking to journalists after having breakfast with the mahouts, kavaids and their family members who have brought elephants from forests into the city to be part of the festivities, district in-charge minister V Srinivasa Prasad disclosed this.
He also mentioned that state government would be spending Rs 10 crore for the festivities and already Rs 6 crore had been released.
The main music programmes in front of the illuminated famous Mysore palace will be held in three phases in the evening with opportunities have been provided to local, state, nation and international artists to give their performances, he said.

As part of the event Ritha dasara programme (Farmer’s Dasara) will be held in neighboring Chamarajanagara district.
