ENARADA, Mysore, September 19, 2013:
As part of the Dasara celebrations, the Mysore district administration is organising a separate a three day Ritha dasara, exclusively for farmers from October 8 to 10.
Speaking to journalists, Ritha dasara sub committee chairman Chidambaram said that the event begins with a colourful procession on 8th with bullock carts , tableaux focusing on agriculture, sericulture , horticulture , organic farming , dairy farming and related fields .
District incharge minister V.Srinivasa Prasad will flag of the procession and events will be held at J K grounds in the city.
He said more than 32 stalls will be erected to display agriculture, horticulture, sericulture and other related equipment’s on the occasion. Animal husbandry minister T B Jayachandra will inaugurate the exhibition while the main event will be inaugurated by agriculture minister by Kirshne byregowda on Ocotber 8, he added.
He said as many as ten famers of the district and two agricultural scientists will be felicitated on the occasion.
Over 1000 farmers from various taluks of the district sporting green caps and shirts, expected to participate in a colourful procession taken out in city to mark the start of Raitha Dasara as part of the ongoing Dasara 2013 festivities.
The events featuring lectures, discussions, quiz and a sports meet is lined up for the farmers. In the traditional events, a slush race is arranged at Varuna hobli. There are several events for women farmers too which includes running with potful of water.
